The Biden administration finalized the new rule, which would provide overtime pay to any worker making $58,656 per year or less, earlier this year. The new rule was set to go into effect next year.

U.S. District Judge Sean Jordan, a Trump appointee, ruled that the Labor Department could not prioritize wages over job duties when determining overtime eligibility. The $35,568 overtime threshold, set by the Trump administration, is now set to go back into effect. This means approximately 4 million workers will lose their right to overtime pay.
