Vassar College, B.A. Anthropology, 2008 NYU School of Law, J.D., 2013

I became a lawyer to fight for justice for regular people. As a former public defender, it frustrated me that my clients faced criminal charges and jail time for petty theft while corporations received few penalties for committing millions of dollars of wage theft from hard-working people. I am proud to stand up against those corporations and fight for workers as an attorney at Getman Sweeney & Dunn.

Whitney joined the firm in 2024. Prior to joining GSD, she was a criminal defense attorney at the Dutchess County Public Defenders’ Office and the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender where she worked as both a trial and appellate attorney. She has tried ten jury cases to verdict and successfully argued multiple appeals before the New Jersey Supreme Court. While in law school Whitney was a Deans’ Scholarship recipient and served as an Executive Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Change.
